Welcome to Amaidí!

The word “Amaidí” comes from Gaelic and means “nonsense” or “silly,” which reflects the playful spirit at the core of our music. We blend the rich traditions of Irish, Scottish, and Australian folk with original compositions, crafting fast-paced neo-trad tunes with a modern edge that will have you dancing in no time.

Since forming, Amaidí has quickly made waves across Australia, performing at major festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, where we had the honour of performing in the Fire Event, as well as the National Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival, the National Celtic and Folk Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, Maleny Folk Festival, Yass Irish Music Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival, and the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols.
